Maintenance and Service Intervals

Can somebody advise me of the frequency of servicing and what needs to be inspected and or replaced and when?

Has anybody had the bodywork off and if so how accessible are things? Does there look to be enough room to easily remove spark plugs and the cylinder head cover?

Is the layout well thought out for access? How easy is it to change the headlight bulbs if they blow?

As with the majority of my bikes, I shall probably service the bike myself after the first service once I have bought a CBR300R.

Many thanks in advance.

Hope this gives you a start. Snapped a couple images of the maintenance schedule from my manual.

Thanks for posting the images Fanatic. No valve check at 600mi, nice! So will there be any warranty issues if I do my own 600 mile maintenance? Anyone know? Not trying to save money, but it is near impossible to get a ride to the dealer for me. I'll be hitting 600 miles by the end of this week and I put around 300 miles a week.

. Many thanks indeed Fanatic. Greatly appreciated. Looks pretty straight forward to me . I shouldn't doubt Honda, but I would be tempted to change the oil at least, more frequently on the 300R. Honda quote the same oil change frequency on their larger engines (1000cc) that run at lower rpm and have more cylinders to spread the load .

Good question. Might be worth speaking to your dealer about your predicament for advice.

Perhaps your dealer would agree to inspect the bike at a later to confirm that you serviced it correctly rendering the warranty valid? Keep the receipt for the recommended oil and genuine oil filter.

+1 to what @CBR300R mentioned, and keeping the receipts. Would see what your dealer says beforehand and perhaps even contacting Honda Corporate to hear from the manufacturer themselves.

I'm with you on the 300 miles per week... I'm on the same pace. Today marks my 7th day of ownership and already over 300 miles.

I'm going to follow the manual as the bare minimum of course, but may squeeze in the extra service every now & then.

Hey guys, is it the same part numbers as the CBR250R for the oil filter and gasket?

15410-KYJ-901 - Oil Filter
15412-KYJ-901 - Gasket

I have a couple of these left over from my old bike. Was going to change the oil tonight. I wasn't able to find any OEM part numbers online for the 300R.

Maybe you already got the answer, but I decided to call up one of my local dealers and they confirmed that the oil filter and gasket are the same used for the 300R as well. Verified both the part numbers you provided.

Cool as Guys! I feel a bit left out here as I only manage 200 miles a week. But I'm not sure how long your riding seasons are.
