For $2500 the 2012 250R with 10,000 miles would have to be exceptionally clean and well maintained, and needing nothing (think tires, chain & sprockets, brake pads, etc.). On the other hand, if it looks like it's been ridden hard and put away wet, it's probably not worth more than $1800. Less than that if it's a real rat bike.
For myself, I'd go for the new 300R... it's brand new (hasn't been flogged by a PO), so you're the one who gets to put on the all important Break-In miles, and it has a one year factory warranty.
