CBR300R vs CBR250R

I'm looking at: A preowned 2012 CBR250R with 10,000Mi @ $2495, vs new 2018 CBR300R @ $3824.
I won't know how much less or more for out the door. but I assume the differences will be marginal.
Opinions Please.

To ride or not to ride? What a stupid question.

For $2500 the 2012 250R with 10,000 miles would have to be exceptionally clean and well maintained, and needing nothing (think tires, chain & sprockets, brake pads, etc.). On the other hand, if it looks like it's been ridden hard and put away wet, it's probably not worth more than $1800. Less than that if it's a real rat bike.

For myself, I'd go for the new 300R... it's brand new (hasn't been flogged by a PO), so you're the one who gets to put on the all important Break-In miles, and it has a one year factory warranty.

I bought my new '18 cbr300ra in black a month and a half ago, list price was 2750 and OTD price was 3,800 (not including taxes since I bought it out of state) but taxes and registration for 2 years cost me 200. I paid 200$ to get it shipped to my door. The dealer i bought it from had one of the best prices for new CBR300R's in the country, well worth expanding your search to roughly 300 miles (if you're comfortable with it) in order to snag a deal.

I'd split the difference and pick up a used 300!
