Starting my CB300F Journey!

Yoooo everyone! Been lurking for a while figured it was time to say hi.

New rider as of June, took the MSF course and found a great deal on a 2016 CB300F - Bought it "used" with only 36 miles on it a couple months ago as my first bike. Just passed the initial 600mi break-in mark. First oil change and chain tensioning just done today. Been slowly tweaking and modding the last month to get to suit my liking. It's just about perfect now. Might look into getting a rear rack and top case soon as I start to get into touring more.

Took it out for a test cruise today and figured she's ready for her closeup. Couple pics from today's little trip attached. Having an absolute blast this summer with it!

Mods:
Puig Naked New Generation Windscreen
Shogun CF Frame Sliders
Honda OEM CF Body Panels/Fenders
Honda OEM CF Fuel Cap/Tank Pad
TechSpec Snake Skin Tank Grips
Yoshimura Fender Eliminator
R&G Exhaust Hanger/Rear Blanking Plate (Rear Footpeg Delete)
Honda Passenger Seat Cowl
Honda OEM Low Seat
IDEA Gear Indicator
DNA High Flow Performance Air Filter
Cell Phone Mount/USB Charger

Looking forward to hanging around here more for help and helping others!

How do you feel about the DNA filter? Does it noticeably affect sound or performance?

Sound at the intake is definitely louder. Under engine load I can easily hear air rushing in when the engine is under load compared to stock. As for performance I think it's a little peppier during acceleration...riding it the first time on the straightaway pulling out of my house my brain and muscle memory got confused as I needed to adjust my shifting/timing from what I was used to a little when accelerating. I need to put some more miles on it to confirm.

I got it more for the maintenance free / reusability of it.

Sounds good. I've been tossing around the idea of trying it, or K&N or BMC. Don't particularly like K&N design because it requires liquid sealant. Are you keeping the exhaust stock?

Gonna keep it how it is the rest of this riding season. I really like the sound and look of the Scorpion exhaust system for the bike, think I'll look into getting that this winter and install it next spring. Probably start getting into messing with the ECU as well.

Looks great. Do you think the windshield makes a difference with the wind or with fuel economy?

I had a larger windscreen for awhile but I didnt think it was really doing much benefit and ended up taking it off.

It's really only functional for speeds >65MPH IMO. I have a 10mi highway ride to work everyday and I find that if I sit back in the seat and tuck just a little, the airflow goes nicely right over the top of my head. Definitely take less of a beating than before I put it on. Even when sitting standard though, I don't really notice the redirected air bothering me at all at city speeds.
