Yup..and people who ride 600 cc and 1000 cc Super Sports say that about anything smaller too...so what really matters is that you enjoy what you ride

The problem with bikes aimed at first time riders is that first time riders buy them..

45hp @ 14,500rpm 6 speed 143kg sports road bike..

but hang on,, thats honda cbr250rr m22 - of 1990...

today, eu5 is looming [19mths away] forcing manufacturers
to re-direct development, re-designing engines or drop them,
including use of older designs, for the time being..

Honda CBR250RR
Those 4 cylinder 250 cc motorcycles that were designed/built years ago would never pass emissions tests for today's World so the people who cry for those bikes I dont think will see them anytime soon. Even in the 2018 Honda Canada brochure...there is no mention of a CBR 600 RR at all

Update

Spotted this today on the net, it's all based around patents Suzuki has filed showing the basic outline of the bike.
If it does indeed end up sporting a radial mounted brake caliper and an aluminium swing arm as speculated in this article then it will be higher spec'd than the present competition.
All will be revealed later in the year I guess.

point on m22 [4 cylinder 250]; "eu5 is looming"..
ie, tougher emissions..

emissions laws, based on eu4,5, 6 decrease allowable emissions exponentially, rather than going direct to electric vehicles..

manufacturers will develop some solutions to cope with eu5, 6, 7 etc
[eg, cats in swingarms etc] but there is a limit
even for honda, who can create 'anything'...

I like the idea of Suzuki getting into the frey. I am partial to that brand having 2 GSXR 750's in my youth. However it would do my heart good to the style pay homage to earlier GSXR's by having 2 round headlights.

Honda has to be getting close to announcing a new performance machine for this segment. There's no way Honda would sit on the sidelines in this competitive 300+cc sport bike market.

I also suspect that such a bike from Honda won't necessarily be intended as a replacement for the current CBR300R... I could see some markets having both bikes available, and other markets only offering the CBR300R in it's current form.

As you can imagine Mike I have been keeping an ear to the ground on Honda's moves in this department. We're only at the mid way point of the year but from now on we will get into the silly season and can expect some spy shots, rumors and renderings to emerge out of South East Asia I'm sure.
I'm going to do a different post on this subject and tell what I know, but for now will leave this thread for news on the new Suzuki.

@CDNHONDAR Yes it's pleasing to see Suzuki (potentially) working on a serious offering for this segment. Twin headlights tho? Who knows, fashion does tend to go in circles eh.
