'19-'20 cb300r

Has anyone got one of these? I walked in a multi-brand bike dealer the other day for a brake part for my dirt bike and saw the '19 CB300R. Good looking scooter. So I did some research on it and in weighs in at 313lbs where as my CBR300R weighs 357 (both claimed weight from Honda). That's a pretty decent difference. They say 10 lbs = 1 HP so that's 4 HP gain without making any modifications (which, of course, I will do). I also saw that the '20 is out but only available in blue. I prefer the red on the '19. Soooo there may be a switcheroo coming up soon. Anyone been on one of these?

The CBR300 is heavier due to the extra fairings. The more streamlined effect will make up the difference in performance due to weight. I'll keep my CBR300.

Don't worry about old age - it doesn't last that long.

That plastic can't weigh 40 lbs? USD forks too. I was just about to go whole hog on my front end with Racetech but may just wait and test ride the CB300R. Decisions decisions...

Your right, the CB300R is completely different to the CB300F that was basically a naked CBR. Much lighter frame and other components like wheels etc. They did an amazing job getting the pork off. Add an aftermarket pipe and a lithium battery and you'd be sub 300lbs probably.

I really like the CB300R and as I stated before ordered one back when they first came out-but they were delayed months so I bought the 300F-no regrets for now but I can see one in my future-unless something better comes out in a year or two

I originally had the 300R in mind when I bought, went with CIH and found out they had a recall on them. Impatient me couldn't wait for the bike and liked the price drop for the 300f. Aesthetically I like the R more, and I am a sucker for blue, but I know that stuff doesn't matter that much and it was hard to justify the extra 2900. I really don't think performance would be that much better for me with the R, and the F is light enough and perfect for Chicago commutes.
One day while I was riding I saw a 300R coming my way and I got excited to see one on the road. It looked like the guy was riding a roller skate, it was so disproportionate for him. He had to be tall, cause it was very odd looking. I'm only 5'6" and I feel like both bikes suit me well. I feel like it would be pretty comfortable for people with long limbs

Much as I like the technical improvements of the CB300R, I just don't like the look of it. It looks short and scrunched up, as if it had already run into something.

I don't mind the look. The weird muffler they put on all these new bikes has to go but I can get down with the rest of it. I've just never been a sport bike guy and my CBR300R was purchased solely for mountain carving (and does a little commuting once I saw how it sips gas) so if I get one of these I lose 40 lbs and have the benefit of USD forks AND it doesn't look like a sport bike. Win win win.

I like the looks, but the extra money doesn’t make it worth it (I got a great deal on my CBR300R). Besides, I’m not a fairing kind of guy, but there are a lot of days I’m kind of glad to have it here on the Wet Coast, since I commute, and don’t get to pick my days.
