OEM bar end assembly

I had a very difficult time removing the bar end from my wife's 2015 CBR300RA. The screw would not come out, so I ended up twisting and pulling the entire assembly out of the bar. There is a metal clip at the exterior end of the assembly that I can't quite figure out. I realize it's there to prevent the assembly from being pushed into the bar. But I can't see how it clips on. And it looks like there are 2 small holes at the end of the handlebar under the grip that something could clip into?Does anyone have pic of the assembled unit they can share?

Thanks.

I havent watched any videos but I just duct taped the bar end to the grip to stop it turning and then used an impact screw driver. A rattle gun would be best though.
CBR250 ones were way tighter than 300's. Higher strength loctite maybe, dunno.
