Since there is all this talk about how heavy the stock 300 wheels are and folks wanna go wider etc. etc.

You have to weight things using the same scale. Every scale is calibrated differently. To maintain consistency use the same scale. Scale should have a low enough resolution. A bathroom scale just doesn't cut it. Their resolution only goes down to maybe 1/2lb. but their accuracy is off by several pounds. The scale I use goes down to ounces. It is meant to weight bicycles so is the perfect scale for this application and weight range.

So no a 500 wheel is not lighter then a 300 wheel.
