Under 600 miles and my CBR300R's exhaust silencer looks rather discoloured :(

Has anybody else suffered this problem?

I'll speak to the dealer about it tomorrow when I take it in for it's first service.

This is normal discoloration for stainless steel, it's what it does once it gets hot.

mines still only at 500km [2mths in repairs] so no muffler
changes, other than plastic melted onto it from security chain..
the cat is in the muffler, no doubt helping generate that
excessive, heat.. in designing a muffler to satisfy
complaints over the years about cbr250r muffler,
appears designers have chosen this evil, heat,
over shape/appearance etc...

great job by honda, within those parameters,
looks 'normal' sounds ok, not too loud, etc..
but you could fry an egg on my muffler..

with engine and coolant fluids ok
and not, overheated..

could be handy for heating snacks
when stopping out on the road...

its normal. it's stainless steel. Buy some stainless steel polish and it will come right off, but be prepared to repeat about every 4-6 months...
