Yep, theres not many cities in New Zealand and they are mostly little ones!
I live in a town of 2000 people with the nearest city 160km away. I do a mix of inter-provincial long rides (typically 400km minimum) to sunday blasts of around 200km plus the odd track day.
My CBR250 was the best on gas tho, I once got 100MPG!

I haven't quite yet paid attention to it, but I know that I have filled my tank twice and im up to about 360 miles now. Started with 1 mile on it. So simple math I guess its about 180 or so per tank right now. Which is better than a car but not what Honda claims on the webpage. I don't slam the throttle back and ride it like I stole it. Im pretty conservative and I do a lot of city riding. Not much hwy yet.

how many miles have you put on your bike so far? I'm thinking that could be a contributing factor to the gas mileage you're getting.

Same driving habit and style, got 165 miles out of my first tank (2.590 gallons) for an estimated 63.7 mpg

Hopefully adding more highway after the break-in gets it up to 70!

My first full tank gave me 63mpg (US) with mixed riding. The same style riding on my old CBR250R have me around 67 or 68. I expect this to improve with some miles but I doubt it will be back to 68 since the engine is spinning around 500rpm more at similar speeds.

I'm at 150 miles on the odometer and have two bars left on the fuel gauge. Have not refueled since taking delivery five days ago.

Look forward to my next fuel up... Btw, the manual says our bike requires 86 octane or higher. What octane have you guys been using? Any benefit in fueling with 93 octane?

My apology for the thread jack...

63mpg works out to be approximately 75mpg for a UK gallon and 68mpg works out to be 81mpg so that's good :) .

The octane rating in the UK for regular unleaded is 95 so the CBR300R should run well on that :) .
