I'm getting about 160 miles before my last line starts to blink on the gas gauge. How many miles are you getting out of your 300r ?

Probably about the same. Small tank, we have.

I have no &*%$ idea, because in the four *&%$ weeks or so since I bought the $%&* thing, I've only managed eighty *&%$# kilometres.

160 miles before the last bar starts flashing sounds about right for a 300R.

My 250R will go about 170 to 175 miles before the last bar starts to flash, and that's starting from a full tank where I've filled it to just above the baffle plate. I typically get an average of 70 to 75 MPG, so I know that if I need to I can easily go 200 miles on a full tank without worrying about whether I'll run out of fuel. I once went 220 miles and then refueled, with it taking 3.0 gallons (again to just above the baffle plate). And at that 220 mile mark, I still had about 0.4 of a gallon remaining in the tank to keep the fuel pump running at its operating temp*.





*For those who may not be aware, in-tank fuel pumps require a certain amount of fuel to remain in the tank in order to cool the fuel pump. Which is why you don't want to run the tank dry on a bike equipped with EFI. Doing so will shorten the life of that expensive $230 fuel pump. By the time the tank is at or near empty, the fuel pump has been running very hot for a significant amount of time. Same applies to fuel injected cars, the difference being that replacing an in-tank fuel pump in a car is not a small job, and can run $600 - $800 or more if you have to pay a shop/mechanic to do it.

I once got 253 miles out of a tank on my 300R when I got caught out on a remote road where I didnt know where the nxt service station was.
The last 50 miles I was down to 50mph but the rest was at 60mph with a lot of tail wind.
I think it worked out at 88 US mpg. Wasn't much left in the tank tho :laugh:

first tank which was regular 87 gas went 198.1 miles, took 2.556 gallons to fill it up, got 77.5mpg, this was my first tank of gas on this new bike but I had a Suzuki 250cc single so I knew about what it could do, regardless I knew I was on fumes when I hit the gas station, but at least I now know what the cb300f bike can do & it's impressive


second tank which was plus 89 went 185.6 miles, took 2.536 gallons to fill it up, got 73.2 mpg,


I'm about half way through the third tank which is premium 93


seems to be doing the best on regular which is what the manual recommends


think the low fuel starts flagging about 160 miles if I remember correctly


so better be looking for a gas station at about 170 miles for both the cbr or cb


I use Trip A for fuel & Trip B for chain maintenance

So it sounds like the tank should be ~10% full to properly cool the fuel pump. If it starts flashing and I have a gallon or so left, and the manual says you have .6G left, that leaves about half a gallon remaining after .6G.

I average 345km (214miles) when I hit the last bar. I have never gotten the tank to the point when the last bar flashes though.

Good info here. Same can be said about diesel fuel pumps. A lot of people like to keep a 1/4 tank or more at fill ups just to keep the fuel pump from exploding and tearing apart the entire fuel system. Which ends up being $3k-$5k to replace the entire fuel system. It's a big issue with having CP4.2 Bosch fuel pump failures in Ford diesel's and GM diesels.

As for mpg's, I would be extremely happy with anything over 65+

Based on my experience you will be happy :) .

Riding high speed I cannot get the fuel consumption to drop below 78mpg (UK gallon).

So how "fast" is high speed......120KMH to 130 KMH? or....MORE?;)

Holy crap, my last bar starts flashing around 250k. This leaves me with 3 liters according to the manual. So ya I guess around 350k would be right. I fill once it starts to blink tho
