G'Day!

New rider, new bike.

Pickup day is Saturday. :):):)

Now to get the wife to complete her training...

Any tips for checking the bike over before riding off would be greatly appreiciated.

Cheers!

G'day mate, lucky you with that great QLD riding climate! Exciting times for you.
Just make sure the tight arses give you a full tank of gas with it before you ride off :D

Have a good read of the manual when you get home, there's a lot of useful info in there among all the arse covering bits.

if you mean riding off from the dealers, check oil level
which should be at least mid window when vertical..
also lift the chain about midway along bottom run,
to check its not too tight [should be a good inch]..

reason i mention these is mine had not enough oil
and too tight [for my liking] rear chain when new..

check for owners booklet
then read for checks etc, asap..

[wouldnt hurt to check your heads in gear
before taking off into the sunset]

Thanks everyone, pick up went smoothly. No chance of me falling off on the way home my bum was puckered on to the seat pretty hard. ?
Had a break in run on Sunday. All good!

I picked mine up from Caboolture and had a few dramas with loose nuts and bolts.

as in youda's experience, when home its a handy intro
to go over all available fasteners checking tension..
start with fairing fasteners, then chain, etc..
enjoy...
