Hi all Greg from Elmont, New York. I’m new to riding. I just put a down on MATTE BLACK/YELLOW 2015 CBR300R ABS. I hope I made the right choice. Being 6”3’ and 195. Hope the bike fits.(never sat on one). Would love some feed back on the overall fit of the bike.

Hey Greg,
I am 6'5 and 195 and would LOVE to know how your riding goes. A hearsay is that CBR300R should be a little better fit for tall guys, when compared to CBR250R. Haven't seen one myself however, so can't confirm. :)
My local bike dealer...has them in stock now...so i will be going in to see how it fits me..
Hey Greg, you may want to stiffen the suspension. Super easy to, there'll be basic instructions on how to do it in your manual. I've seen a video of someone adjusting the suspension on a ninja awhile back. Pretty much the same thing.
do you have the link for the video that you speak of?
thanks for the info?

How to adjust rear suspension on motorcycle - preload settings Kawasaki Ninja 250r - YouTube

Do note that the cbr300r's will be upside down compared to the bike in the video.

Also, you guys both might wanna sit on the cbr500r too. Its the same seat height as the cbr300r but it feels a lot taller cause of the bigger/bulkier engine. I'm only a 120lbs and can tell you that the 300 is very far from being considered "fast." If I was taller/heavier, I probably would have gone with the 500 (and no, I'm not a speed demon), but that's just my opinion.
will this change the ride height?

Indirectly, yes. The actual seat height shouldn't move (would probably be negligible if it does), however, it would stiffen your suspension so the bike doesnt end up dropping a couple of inches when you actually sit on it (putting all your weight down).

I say you may want to stiffen the suspension cause for two reasons. you don't want the rear to be too low when you actually sit on because it'll affect your turning ability (general rule, higher the rear in comparison to the front, the easier it is to turn). And when you hit a bump, you don't wanna be bouncing all over the place (think pogo stick).

But everyone is different so I say you play with the adjustment to your liking.
thank you for the info...
