I was just curious if I was crazy or if this actually changed. I got my cbr 300r 2016 and rode it for the first 600 miles and could have swore that in 6th gear at 6000 RPM, I would be traveling 60 mph. After changing the oil it was 6000 rpm about 55 mph (still 6th gear). I might be crazy but I am just wondering if other cbr 300r owners could relay their info

The only thing that changes your actual ground speed in relation to your RPM’s is rear tyre wear. As the wheels diameter lessens with wear the amount of RPM’s required to sustain a given speed increases.
That and a slipping clutch lol 😄

With a 15T front sprocket and in 6th gear my speedo reads at 40 mph 4000rpm, 50 mph 5000rpm, 60 mph 6000rpm etc. Very useful to know you are in 6th gear. These have been compared with a GPS and are within a mph of accurate. With the 14T front the difference was at least 10% out. Oil changes make no difference. Since fitting 15T at 3800 miles the speed to rpm has been constant. Now at 10,000 miles.

I have 2016 CB300F (same engine as yours) with stock sprockets and in 6th gear I am always at 45 mph at 5000 rpm.

45 at FIVE. Thats how I remind myself that I am in top gear already. How many miles on your bike and what brand of oil /filter did you use?
