thanks for posting this
good to hear thefts have gone down, i wonder if rates might go down because of this, even if it's just by a bit

I would think that the reason why Honda is the most stolen is because it is also the most popular. There are more of them around to steal, and they are targeted more because there is more demand for their parts once you break them down. Its the price of being at the top of the industry.

yup, i almost always see more honda bikes out there than i do of any other make, just have to be really mindful of where you park and the security measures you take to reduce the chance

Honda's will never stop being the most stolen when it comes it Honda motorcycles and automobiles.
Well I am pretty sure that Honda is not the most stolen car brand. Here is one list that I found that was published last year of the most stolen cars in the US.

- Ford F-250 Crew model with four-wheel drive (starting price, $36,270), seven out of every 1,000 insured vehicles stolen.
- Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew model ($32,710), 6.7 vehicles stolen.
- Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 ($36,975), 6.1 vehicles stolen.
- GMC Sierra 1500 Crew model ($35,885), 6.1 vehicles stolen.
- Ford F-350 Crew model with four-wheel drive ($37,370), 5.6 vehicles stolen.
- Cadillac Escalade with four-wheel drive ($67,290), 5.5 vehicles stolen.
- Chevrolet Suburban 1500 (45,360), 5.4 vehicles stolen.
- GMC Sierra 1500 Extended Cab model ($28,610), 4.7 vehicles stolen.
- GMC Yukon ($41,760), 4.5 vehicles stolen.
- Chevrolet Tahoe ($41,400), 4.4 vehicles stolen.

these are the most stolen vehicles according to National Crime Insurance Bureau...

Honda Civic (1995)
Honda Accord (1991)
Toyota Camry (1989)
Ford F-150 (1997)
Chevrolet C/K 1500 (1994)
Acura Integra (1994)
Dodge Ram Pickup (2004)
Nissan Sentra (1994)
Toyota Pickup (1988)
Toyota Corolla (2007)

they love the older hondas because parts are so in demand the car literally disappears...

that's right, plus those cars were so easy to understand.

Moral of the story is, if you don't want to have your car stolen, don't own an older Honda Civic or Accord. most popular cars to buy will also be the most popular cars to steal. It's supply and demand.

Of course the other end of this is that if you have a Honda you will likely have better and easier access to parts. So easier repairs and replacement parts, but more likely to be stolen. As long as you have some proper security features you should be fine.

that's the beauty of owning them, no need to worry about parts and availability.
