Uncomfortable Chin Strap

I had the same discomfort with a cheap 40$ helmet I bought on Amazon that has a ratcheting style of quick-release strap.

I found that by rotating the helmet downwards that I can adjust the angle where the buckle is not touching my adams apple. Still I wish I had not bought this helmet. Because now I have to spend even more money and get something decent.

At least you're only out forty bucks... could have been a $200+ safety helmet that didn't work out for you.

I'm a firm believer in investing in quality safety gear right from the start, whether it's for motorcycle riding or other potentially hazardous activities, like for example operating chainsaws. I cut a huge amount of firewood to heat my home through the winter months, so for me using all the professional chainsaw safety gear (cut proof chaps & gloves, forestry helmet with screen face shield & integral hearing protectors, and steel toed logging boots.... over $500 worth), is a no brainer.

Personal safety is simply far too important to settle on cheap, low quality gear.
