Front Sprocket cushioning???

The rear sprockets on our bikes are dampened by big rubber isolators between their metal mounts and the rear hub. They seem to work real well at isolating vibrations at the higher end of the rpm spectrum, but not so much at the lower end (4,500-7,500 rpm) of the range, where most of the commuting cruiser lives.

Has anyone tried any of those Front Sprockets that have a rubber cushioning ring on them???

Thanks!

I have parts arriving for a chain and sprocket service. Like you, I am interested in a front sprocket with the rubber ring, but could not find a source. Have a Honda stock front sprocket coming from Revzilla, but if you have a source for one of the rubber ringed ones, let us know!

Those rubber cushionings will help eliminate drivetrain shock, but would not do anything for engine vibrations at different rpm's. the vibrations i think you are asking about are engine into the frame into your rear, not necessarily related to rubber on sprockets.

A rubber cushioned countershaft sprocket would not make a discernible difference. As other have already mentioned, the cush drive in the rear hub is to soften drivetrain shock, and given the meagre horsepower of the 300, it’s already almost overkill. (A friend has a KTM 450 SM with no cush drive, and it’s eaten its countershaft. Probably twice the power, and ridden hard at all times.)
