Honda CBR300 Should Come to Canada in Fall 2014

According to the Honda motorcycle Canada website, the CBR300 should be coming to Canada in Fall 2014.

Honda is trying to get rid of its CBR250R stockas fast as it can by offering them at highly-discounted prices as low as CAD3,499. The CBR300R will come with anti-lock brakes standard.

Actually the CBR300R is the Non-ABS, standard model. The CBR300RA is the ABS equipped version of the bike.

Does anyone know if Honda has even done this in the past? Not something I'd expect them to do.

 

maybe canadians are almost sold out of cbr250s. so they are announcing the 300 now.

 

Strange though that they will be waiting until fall '14 when NA's riding season is all but finished. Makes me think it will be a single concurrent release across all markets instead of something staggered...

 

So the new CBR300R will cost $5k. Who would cheap out and chose to save a grand for a CBR250R?

 

People are buying brand new 2013 CBR250R's this spring for as low as $3500 USD, plus TT&L.

And that estimated $5000 USD for a 2015 CBR300R doesn't include the Freight & Set-up charges that many dealers will add on to that price, so it could very well be closer to $5500 USD, plus TT&L by the time you ride away from the dealership.

So you're really talking about a $2000 difference in price between the two bikes... that two grand can buy some really nice riding gear, as well as a few other items that a new sport bike owner will need, such as a rear paddock stand, service manual, engine oil & filters, etc.

Not to mention the fact that no one will be riding any 2015 CBR300R's late summer. Add it all up, and there are actually some very good reasons to buy a CBR250R.

 

The new CBR300R is not for me, I hope the CB300F/X will come in under 350lbs. I was disappointed that the new CBR300R will not come with a gear indicator? You would think ABS, slipper clutch and gear indicator on beginner bikes are a no brainer! Honda rectified this with the new NC750x but not the CBR300R.

 

I received an e-mail from my contact at American Honda today regarding the U.S. release of the CBR300R/RA... the latest ETA for U.S. Honda dealerships is August of this year.

So the US is actually going to receive the CBR300 before Canada? And here I was all excited that we would finally get something before the US.

The black and yellow CBR300 on that site looks cool. Might have to go with that one instead of the other versions.

Just went to a dealer the other day. Not sure if I'd really be willing to trust him, but a sales rep said they were getting the 300 next month. Of course this was after I mentioned my intentions to get a Kawasaki, so maybe he was just trying to keep me more interested in the Hondas

 

Where are you located? Likely you've been told an untruth. Based on info MM tossed out in another thread, logistically the earliest the bikes can arrive in NA is August. More likely September/October.

Not me... summer is just getting started. August will be here soon enough, and then October will be just around the corner, at which time a lot of people will be getting their bikes prepped for winter storage.

Life is too short as it is.
