What's your CBR300R/CB300F top speed?

You need oil in your gas tank, and install those mirrors upside down!
Also, I heard that changing your windshield to a smoked one, will gain HP.
And don't forget to lubricate your blinkers for aerodynamic flow. Regular butter will do!

I win the under-nourished baby competition at a slip of a 130lbs fully dressed and breakfasted.
That's how I get better top speeds out of my bike than MeeLee
We yet have to see,

Although my fat 180LBS ass seems to slide quite well through the air at 9500+RPM sixth gear.

I never took the opportunity to take my GPS out to see how fast I really was going.
The speedo mentions 93-94 MPH, but the sprocket setup makes 13.4% more speed than stock indicated.

An I ain't even running my Danmoto exhaust yet!
I was surprised how good the danmoto muffles any incoming sound.
It's a good thing to mount on a spouses mouth, in case they tend to yell hard!

Bike is at the dealer now, for the fuel issue to be fixed in warranty.

144 is disapointing.
I don't get why the F goes about as fast as my Rebel (only 5kph faster), while having such huge torque and HP increase over it. The rebel only has 16hp and goes 85 mph (136kph) .

If I where you, Ravinoth, I would put a 15t on the bike. It will bring your bike closer to the powerband, gain a HP or two, thus your top speed should increase a bit. It should also correct some of the offset between gps and speedo, and unless your odo is on the dot correct, also give you more accurate MPG readouts.

I know. I was turned off about the complaints on vibrations of the big single.
Had I known that my cbr gets 55mpg avg instead of the advertized 70mpg, I might have reconsidered the duke, or the naked version of the R3, if it ever became available in USA.
The R3 is the only bike with sufficient power, and the duke.

My mistake, the bike read 9800RPM which is 95MPH, not 98MPH on the speedo; which translates to 108MPH GPS.
On the way back, it didn't go over 80MPH indicated, or 90MPH GPS.
That averages out at 99MPH GPS

I finally was able to clock my GPS on the cbr300.
It seems with the new gear ratio, it underread by 13%, which means that the stock CBR speedo was dead on.
On the cbr I've done 107MPH with the Danmoto exhaust, but at one point with the stock exhaust I must've done 112MPH (GPS). That was with a tailwind.

On my GS500F, I did 112MPH regularly. It has 33-35bhp, and in power very similar to the cbr, only more power from 8k rpm on, tjough the heavier weight causes it to accelerate the same.

On my VT750 I've managed to get 108mph.
Funny how that 55hp bike couldn't go faster than the cbr.
Anything over 90mph doesn't feel well to me.
For that reason I'd love to one day own a sub 400lbs 4stroke naked bike with around 400cc and 40hp.
The big perfect 4.
Probably twin cylinder too. At 40bhp twin has enough power down low, where a single might have too much torque for city riding for me.

Yeah..When I was younger ...(late 20's) I layed on the gas tank (GSXR 750) + opened the throttle to 220 KPH (140 MPH) and backed off. I never did that again. I figure I was pretty lucky to get away with it..:)
Since then, she's gotten a bigger smile, and her first taste of bug splatter, and flying critters :D

I've taken mine to about 95 on the speedo with stock exhaust.
There's a 13% difference due to gearing, so with stock gearing it should have shown 107MPH.
It's a little optimistic the speedo.

Currently, I'm topping out at 90, until I can get my fuel issues resolved (air/fuel ratio back on stoic).

On the other hand, lots of traffic means you can draft behind cars, and go faster.

I would agree with motomike, if you're on 80MPH roads, you need to go a guaranteed 90MPH (with a headwind);
That means your bike needs to go 100MPH GPS the least as top speed.
That's 500cc, or more, territory
The CBR30R will hit 90MPH GPS on a good day, 80MPH on a bad one.

6'4", ~190LBS 2015 CBR300R yellow (which is faster because of it's sporty yellow line, and no other reason)

Indicated: 90MPH sitting upright, 99MPH tucked.
GPS: 80MPH upright, and 90MPH tucked.

The problem with the F and the R is that the speedo in many cases is 10% overreading.

So if above is true as well, then the F is 10MPH slower.

A sprocket swap to 15T front, and 35 or 34t rear, should give you one or two more MPH, and an open exhaust (slipon) should add a bit more on that.

Reminds me of the VT750's.
On the interstate, they would vibrate my butt off at 5k rpm, almost like a bull with steel horns was ramming the underside of my seat a 1000 times per second...

One of the cylinders was aimed at my privates, and I always thought what would happen if the piston would shoot out, I would have an instant tranny conversion (and a big hole where there was none before).

But the bike always handled the speeds good upto 108MPH (speedo only went to 100MPH), despite the heavy vibrations.

I wished I could say it's cheap.
$4k, + dest fee + dealer fee + taxes often comes out above $5k. For that price you can buy a second hand car here FL.

I just bought a larger tank for my Rebel, and a larger rear sprocket from current, for better top speed.
Give it 2 months time to see how it rides, and sell it around tax day (March to April).

It is a bit disappointing. For my needs I felt that the 300F came really **** close to being "enough bike" (ie. screw the haters); but not even being able to hit 100 mph (160 kph) felt pretty lame to me so I actually traded my 300F in for a 500F and it's pretty much exactly what I was looking for. Its top speed is around 188 kph which isn't a huge jump considering the jump in CC's but that's enough for me (for now haha).
I really liked keeping the bike below 400LBS.
I have an (unused) Suzuki GS500F. It's 485LBS, and I find it a pain to roll around in the yard; as well as safety wise, to me I feel less safe on it.

I was eying the CB500X a few months back,
Liked the seating position, and all, but the price, and weight kind of turned me off; since I wanted a replacement for the GS500F. The 500F came second at 425LBS, and seems like a good candidate, but I find the FZ-07 a better one for the price.
They say Honda's valve adjustment (a $300-500 job) on the CB500's is every 16k miles.
On the FZ-07 it appears to be every 25k miles, so you'd end up saving on maintenance in the long run...

That's how I ride now on my Rebel, to maintain 85+mph speeds. Not comfy for more than 30 minutes.
I've heard the grom does 60mph stock?
Most people wanting to ride top speed on the grom, go 1 tooth up on the front.

Hey Kiwi,
Have you tested top speed ducked forward, and sitting upright on this bike?
You mentioned going about 102mph (probably ducked), how much would it go sitting upright (to get more of a feel for the CB300F's top speed).
